Wings #11

I thought I'd better put a post in that shows I'm really working on the lower LH wing and making progress.  It's over 75% done and have a good start on the aileron for this wing too.

Not much work to report on the OX-5.  I did find someone to re-babbitt the rod bearings, and even though the mains checked out good, I decided to re-babbitt those as well.  The original babbitt is nearly 100 years old and from what I've been told, the tin-based babbitt used today is superior.  At the same time, I'm also going to have the rods bushed for the piston pins to allow for a full floating pin.

I decided not to go to Blakesburg this year.  This coming weekend, though is our favorite event of the year - the Midwest Antique Airplane Club (MAAC) fly-in at Brodhead, WI.  Weather permitting the Funk will be there, otherwise I'll drive up.  I only live about 50 miles away.  One of the best run events you'll find!
